Students tend to choose short-term and mid-term internship programs that fit their study schedules:

  • 49% of students prefer short-term internships (1–3 months)

Data analysis shows that short-term internships are more popular due to their flexibility, allowing students to balance academics and practical experience. However, a significant number of students also prefer mid-term internships for deeper engagement in work, demonstrating their willingness and commitment to learning and skill enhancement.

  • Job-specific professional skills (85%)
  • Communication skills (76%)
  • Problem-solving skills (70%)

These statistics highlight that, beyond technical knowledge, students recognize the importance of communication and problem-solving skills in a real work environment. Enhancing these competencies will help students integrate more easily into the corporate world and increase their career development opportunities.

ASSESSMENT OF CURRENT SKILLS

Before entering the workforce, students prioritize equipping themselves with essential skills. Specifically:

  • 35.5% of students consider English proficiency a crucial skill to develop.
  • 17.3% of students focus on improving office IT skills.

CONCLUSION

Most students show a clear direction when it comes to internships — prioritizing roles related to their major, flexible timing, and specific goals. They aim to improve both hard and soft skills to enhance future career opportunities. These findings can help businesses and universities design internship programs that better match students' real needs, while also creating environments where students can apply their knowledge, strengthen their capabilities, and prepare for professional work.
